Mrs. Elmer C. Benn
Mrs. Elmer C. Benn, the former Fannie M. Robinson of West Hebron, N.Y., died very suddenly Friday at the Mary McClellan Hospital, Cambridge, at 9:15 pm.
Mrs. Benn received her education in the local schools as she had resided in South Shaftsbury and Bennington area most of her life. She and Mr. Benn were married Feb 5, 1927, in Bennington.
She was of a home loving nature and most of her life was centered around her family and friends. She was a wonderful neighbor, always extending kindness wherever and whenever she could.
Besides her husband, she is survived by one son, Robert, who is stationed in Japan in the U.S. Army; a daughter, Sandra, of West Hebron; two grandchildren, Melissa and James Benn, who are also in Japan; her father, David Robinson, who resided with her; three brothers, Charles of South Shaftsbury, Walter of Rupert and Winfield of Bennington one sister, Mrs. Alber (Nancy) Chenaille of Cambridge; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held Wednesday with a prayer from the home at 12:30 pm and from South Shaftsbury Methodist Church at 2pm. The Rev. A.J. MacDonald will officiate.
