ANDERSON — Betty G. Robinson, 65, went home to be with the Lord on July 6, 2009.
She was born Dec. 20, 1943, in Sardis, Ala., to Levert and Louise (Davis) Braxton Sr. Betty was a lifelong resident of Anderson and graduated from Anderson High School. Betty was employed at Guide Lamp, Division of General Motors.
She was a member of Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church where she was a member of the Youth Choir, and Senior Usher Board. She was also a member of the United Auto Workers Local 663, UAW bowling league, the Cadillac Club, and the CB radio club.
Betty leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Elroy Robinson; her mother, Louise (Davis) Braxton; four sons, Ronald D. Braxton, Grant W. Siler, Gregory L. Siler and Eric M. Siler; two daughters, Angela L. (Billy) Sawyer and LaGay M. (fiancé, Marlon) Siler; stepchildren, Joshua Robinson, Duran Robinson, Darnell Robinson, Astarlove (Brian) Ekco, Jhaskada Robinson, Jamila (Carlin) Johnson, and Roymisha Robinson; three brothers, Booker T (special friend, Barbara) Braxton, Levert Braxton Jr., and Edward T. Braxton; six sisters, Mable L. Anderson, Ora J. (special friend, Chris) Moore, Yvonne Avery, Margaret (Sonny) Brown, Natalie (Ramon) Weathersbee and Ada L. (Bill) Ousley; 10 grandchildren, Natasha Winburn, Quantisha Winburn, Seanita Winburn, Dyreece Simmons, Brandon Braxton, Brandony Braxton, Terrance Siler, Jaylon Siler, Jayde Siler and Kobley Siler; mother-in-law, Marie Robinson; sisters-in-law, Mary F. Grady, Linda M. Mitchell (friend, Andrew) and Darlene Robinson.
Additional survivors include uncles, the Rev. David (Josephine) Braxton, Jessie (companion, Sonia Gibbs) Braxton and Jake Braxton Jr.; aunts, Willie Mae Wilkerson, Virginia King, Grace Harris, Delores ( Sonny) Sallie, Mattie Wilson, and Claudia Blunt; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. Betty was preceded in death by her father, Pastor Levert Braxton Sr.; paternal grandparents, the Rev. Jake and Mable Braxton; great-grandparents, the Rev. Jake and Virginia Braxton; maternal grandparents, John Henry and Alee Davis; uncles, Samuel Davis, Thomas Davis, Tommie King and Willie Wilkerson; and aunts, Tempie L. Davis and Mary Walker; and brother-in-law, John Avery.
Homegoing Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church, 2124 Cedar St., Anderson. The visitation will be at the church from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Interment will follow in Anderson, Memorial Park. Pastor Floyd Edwards will officiate.
