Clinton Alexander "Clint" Robinson, 84, died Monday, February 20, 2006 at his home in Atkinson, Brantley Co., GA.

Mr. Robinson was born May 19, 1921 in Cogdell, Ware County, GA he was the son of the late Marvin H. and Elizabeth (Lizzie) Merritt Robinson.

As a young man, he worked for turpentine and timber operators throughout south Georgia. He served with distinction in the Army Signal Corps in the Pacific during World War II. Following the war he and his family bought and ran a grocery store in Waynesville; he later owned a grocery store in Nahunta for a number of years. He and his wife, Wiltse, had Clint Robinson Insurance Agency, from which they retired in 1980; he also developed Deerwood subdivision in Atkinson. He was a founder of the Nahunta Volunteer Fire Department- of which he was the first chief, a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years and a long-time member of Hayner Hunt Club.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Wiltse Royster Robinson. Mr. Robinson is survived by his daughters and son-in-laws, Carol R. and Terry Keefe of Eufaula, AL; Mary R. and Marvin Parrott, his grand daughter and grandson -in-law, Anna I. and Jess Turner, and his devoted grandson Elliott Ippolito all of Atkinson; and a sister, Ruth Moody of Nahunta; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws. Visitation will be Tuesday night starting at 6:00 p.m.Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 22, 2006 at 2:00 pm at Chambless-Frye Funeral Home In Nahunta, GA with Rev. Hilton Morgan and friends officiating.

Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Ware County with Masonic Rites. Pallbearers will be Michael Ingram, David Royster, Dan Moody, Aleck Merritt, Frances Robinson and Wyatt Hutcheson. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of Hayner Hunt Club and are asked to meet at the funeral home by 1:15 PM Wed.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Nahunta EMTs @ P.O. Box 798 Nahunta, GA 31553, the American Heart Association or Nahunta Methodist Church Building Fund @ P.O. Box 12 Nahunta, GA 31553.
