Residence: She has lived in the Alexandria area since 1953.
Biography: Vergie attended Vicco, Kentucky schools and received her GED from Alexandria-Monroe High School in 1982. She retired from CoreSource Inc. of Anderson in 2001. For the past 33 years, Vergie has been a member of the Alexandria Church of the Nazarene where she belonged to the Ambassador Sunday School Class. She enjoyed listening to live Bluegrass music and gospel hymns, quilting and watching TV game shows. Serving Jesus Christ as her personal Savior was what Vergie lived for. Mostly she enjoyed loving and caring for her family.

Funeral Service Time and Day: Home Going services will take place at 10 am on Saturday, December 1, 2012 in the Alexandria Church of the Nazarene, 1401 South Harrison Street
Officiating: Pastor Mark Diemer
Interment: Will follow in Park View Cemetery at Alexandria
Visitation: Friends may call at the Alexandria Church of the Nazarene on Friday from 4 pm to 8 pm or after 9 am on Saturday at the church prior to the services
Memorial Contributions: Are suggested to the Alexandria Church of the Nazarene Missions with envelopes available during the visitation and services.
The care of Vergie and her family has been entrusted to Owens Funeral Home in Alexandria.
