ReNell Hadley passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2005 after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer.
She was born Nov 30, 1937 in Afton to Reynold and Eliza Robinson. ReNell spent her growing up years in Star Valley bucking hay, driving the tractor and feeding livestock on the family ranch in Freedom.
ReNell graduated from Star Valley High School, where she was a cheerleader and rodeo queen. She attended Brigham Young University and graduated with a degree in elementary education.
ReNell's first teaching assignment was in Torzana Calif. It was there that she met Ron Hadley, a BYU graduate who was working with Qantas Airways, Australia's overseas airline. Later they courted cross country after ReNell accepted a teaching position in the Washington D.C. and Virginia areas.
In 1963 ReNell and Ron were married for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They spent their honeymoon in South Africa and Zimbabwe, where Ron had served his mission.
Everywhere they traveled and lived, from Africa to Europe and Japan and California to Georgia, ReNell made friends. People were drawn to her energy and spirit.
Ron and ReNell moved to Alpine in 2004 to be near family.
ReNell was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She lived the gospel every day through acts of kindness and charity to other.
ReNell is survived by her husband, Ron; daughter, Alisha (Terry) Ferrell; son, Sharif (Danielle) Hadley; daughter, Shering Hadley; 9 grandchildren; sisters, June McGavin and LaNea Adams and her brother, Dean Robinson.
]Funeral services were held on Thursday, March 24, 2005.
