Died at her home, 32 Roosevelt avenue, Endicott, N. Y.. Saturday morning, January 22, at 9:45 o'clock, Elizabeth A. Andrews, aged seventy-four years, two months and four days. The subject of this memoir was born on November 17, 1846, at Hornell, N. Y. When a mere child, her parents, Darius and Hannah Robinson moved to the Town of Union (near Union Center), where she resided continuously until November, 1913, when she moved with her family to Endicott. On August 22, 1867 she was united in marriage to Eugene M. Andrews, and is survived by her husband and daughter Elma. Her husband is president of the Farmers National Bank at the present time, and was formerly postmaster of Endicott Early in life she united with the Methodist Episcopal church of Union Center, and her husband and daughter still retain their membership there. For eight long weary months, she was confined to her room, and much of the time to her bed, and during this long period of sickness, she was never heard to murmur or complain. No words can come at such a time to fill the measure of sympathy needed, but from those who have suffered such loss. Language can only express a sincere, prayerful sorrow for the husband and daughter, and that God maybe merciful to them in their deep affliction.Broken is the golden bowl, the spirit flown forever. Husband and daughter journeyed with her on that lonely path, down to the dark river's edge, and they fully believe that she was helped across by the hand of God and that all the joys of heaven are hers. Funeral services were held at her late residence on Tuesday. January 25, and were conducted by Rev. A. O. Austin of Whitney Point, a former pastor. He was assisted by Rev. F. H. Parson of Union. The text selected for the occasion was from First Thessalonians, 4th chapter, 13th verse. "But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that you sorrow not, even as others which have no hope."
