Found in The State 27 February 1959: William Dixon Robertson, 62, of 229 South Edisto Avenue, retired bookkeeper, died at 6:35 last night at a local nursing home after several years declining health. Mr. Robertson was born in Winnsboro, February 8, 1897, a son of the late Dixon Hawley Robertson and Martha Wylie Robertson. He made his home in Columbia for the past 30 years. Mr. Robertson retired in 1954. He was a member of Washington Street Methodist Church. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Mary Norman Hargrave Robertson; one daughter, Mrs. William Dewey Shull of Columbia; one son, Lebr. W. D. Robertson Jr., of the United States Navy in Norfolk, Va.; four sisters, Miss Elizabeth Robertson, Miss Lutie Robertson and Miss Margaret Robertson all of Columbia, and Mrs. T. T. Rogers of Lake City; and four grandchildren, Hargrave Shull, Sally Shull and Sandy Shull, all of Columbia, and W. Dixon Robertson, III, of Norfolk, Va. Funeral services will be conducted at 5 o'clock this afternoon from the Dunbar Funeral Home by Dr. Wallace Fridy. Interment will be in the Elmwood Cemetery.
