Ada L. Adams was born on August 23, 1917 in Akins, Oklahoma to George Harrison McAney Roberts and LaVinia Ellen (Fulbright) Roberts. She passed from this life on December 28, 2012 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma at the age of 95 years, 4 months & 5 days.
Ada had lived in the Bixby community most of her life, having moved here in the 1940's. She worked many years as a clerk, secretary and bookkeeper for Bixby grocery stores and is best remembered for working at Doc's. When she was not working or tending to her family, she was extremely devoted to her church. She was a charter member of the Bixby Free Will Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher for many years, vacation bible school teacher and leader and was active on several mission trips. After moving to Sand Plum, she was a proud member of the Red Hat Society ladies.
She married James P. Adams on January 10, 1946 in Muskogee, OK. After more than 46 years of marriage, he preceded her in death on June 11, 1992. She was also preceded by 3 brothers; Owen, Victor & George Roberts and 1 sister; Ruby Beene.
Honorary casket bearers are Tommy Gibson, Sr., Don Allen, Paul Burtis, Herschel Edwards, Norm Sahm & Bill Beene. Music will be provided by Vickie Smallen.
Memorials may be directed to the Bixby Free Will Baptist Church.
