Minnie May Baker, 90 years of age, of Wolcott, Indiana departed this life at 4:20 p.m. on Saturday, April 3rd, 2010 in her residence.
She was born on May 16th, 1919 in Nancy, Kentucky to the late Elmer and Mary Catherine Dalton Roberts. She married Fred Baker on December 17th, 1936 in Somerset, Kentucky. When they first married they lived on a farm in Delmer, Kentucky. In March of 1943 they moved to Indiana and farmed in Kentland, Goodland, Remington and then Wolcott.
Minnie helped her husband throughout their working years by raising the family, helping farm and lastly when they owned/operated a tree trimming business they started in March of 1963. She was a member of the Wolcott Baptist Church and past member of the Wolcott Home Economics and Wolcott Bicycle Clubs. She enjoyed flower gardening, working on trees and being outdoors. She was very active in her church and loved the Lord. She was also a wonderful people person.
She was survived by her loving husband, Fred Baker of Wolcott, Indiana; three daughters, Learee E. (and husband, Paul) Williamson of Wolcott, Indiana, Lena F. (and husband, Dale) Cox of Farmer City, Illinois, and Lois "Darleen" (and husband, Lynn) Bulington of Tucson, Arizona; one son, Rodger H. Baker of Wolcott, Indiana; and one sister, Emma Burton of Nancy, Kentucky; seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Mary Catherine Roberts; and seven brothers and sisters.
Visitations were held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 7th, 2010 at the Foster-Clapper Funeral Home in Wolcott, Indiana.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 8th, 2010 in the Chapel of the Foster-Clapper Funeral Home with Rev's. Dale Cox and Randy Arbogast officiating.
Interment followed in the Apostolic Christian Cemetery also known as the Wolcott Cemetery in White County, Indiana.
