Isla Mae Archer, 80, of Kokomo, passed away at 4:18 AM, Friday January 10, 2014 at her residence. Born August 21, 1933 in Kokomo, she is the daughter of the late Frederick Roberts and Hazel (Rayls) Roberts. On January 15, 1949 in Kokomo, she married Russell Archer. He preceded her in death on April 3, 2007. She was employed with Delco Electronics for 36 years, retiring in 1986. She was a member of the Eagles Ladies Auxillary, Delco Delphi Alumni Club, and U.A.W Local #292. She enjoyed baking cakes, painting, music, knitting, crocheting, and going to the lake with her family in earlier years. She also taught porcelain doll classes. She loved her dogs.
Survivors include one daughter Diana L. (David) Robertson of Kokomo; one brother Dale (Sue) Roberts of Kokomo; two sisters Vera Harrison and Gloria (William Sr.) Thompson, both of Kokomo; three grandchildren Creighton McCutcheon, Bryce McCutcheon, and Cary Robertson; four great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother Donald Roberts, and one brother-in-law Bill Harrison.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday January 14, 2014 at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 South Webster Street, Kokomo. Brother Herman Gorham will officiate. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens, Kokomo. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the mortuary.
