CENTERVILLE--Arvilla Roberts Ford, died Tuesday, Sept 1, 1998 of natural causes, at home in Centerville, Utah.

She was born December 4, 1900, to Olive Corbridge Roberts and Walton Anthony Roberts in Spring Cooley, Alberta Province, Canada. She was the first of eight children, five girls and three boys. In her early childhood, her family moved to Layton, Utah, where they established a productive farm. Arvilla was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, served in many capacities. She was educated in the public schools of Davis County and the University of Utah, where she graduated in Home Economics-Education. She taught Home Economics in Levan High School. She was a devoted member of DUP. She was an accomplished genealogist and a talented artist.

She married Rulon Garn Ford on July 16, 1925 in the Logan Temple. She was preceded in death by him, November 28, 1997. They established a home in Centerville, Utah, on a farm which they developed and on which they raised nine children, six boys and three girls: Dr. Clynn R. Ford (Katherine), Dr. R. Newell Ford (Kathleen), Duane R. Ford (Lora), Dr. J. Garn Ford (Catherine), Walton Devon Ford (deceased), Mark R. Ford (Marsha), Elaine F. Kapple (Charles), Kathleen F. Bloomfield (deceased)(Arlin), Emma F. Glover (Dr. David V.). Arvilla's extended family includes 46 grandchildren and 107 great-grandchildren. She knew and loved them all. She is survived by one brother, Snoden Roberts; and two sisters, Zora R. Cook and Imogene R. Wood; two brothers, Weldon Roberts and Henry Roberts are deceased; two sisters, Gwendola Roberts and Evadna R. Francis are deceased.

Funeral service will be on Saturday, September 5, 1998, 12 noon at the Centerville North Stake Center at 1450 North Main. A viewing will be held Friday, September 4, 1998, from 6-8 p.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, Utah, and from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Stake Center. Interment will be at the Centerville Cemetery following the funeral service.

The family request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Deseret Foundation of LDS Hospital.
