Among Liza's nine children was a daughter named Anna -- born in October 1864 and begotten by Elisha's son, Tommy Roberts.
As a young woman, Anna learned the skills of a country midwife and was often sought out by neighbors -- including her half-brothers' families -- when someone was sick or in labor.
When Anna died at the age of nine-nine years, three hundred sixty-four days, and twenty-three hours, the Roberts boys wanted to bury "Aunt Anna" in the white cemetery. But her daughters prevailed and buried their mother in the "black" cemetery out on Farm-to-Market Road 2213, right by the church at the entrance to Roberts Community.
