Jo Anne Clark 62 of Worthington, MO passed away Monday January 10, 2011 at Northeast Regional Medical Center, where she had been a patient one week. The daughter of Labe and Ruth(Thompson)Robbins, she was born June 9, 1948 in Des Moines, IA. On November 23, 1962 in Worthington she was united in marriage to James R. Clark, who preceded her in death on September 30, 2009. Also preceding her in death were her parents, an infant daughter, Sarah Anne, and a brother, Herman Richmond. Jo Anne grew up in the Worthington area and attended the Worthington Elementary School and Queen City High School. She was a devoted mother whose number one priority was caring for her family. In later years she became involved in community affairs; where she was Mayor of Worthington, served on the Senior Housing Board, and operated Jo's Cafe in Worthington. While living in Kirksville she was very instrumental in starting and operating three separate Missions and a Soup Kitchen, which Jo Anne loved doing, and worked at faithfully until ill health forced her to retire. Jo Anne is survived by three children, Tammy Overton and husband Orin of Unionville, Jimmy Clark and wife Tonya of Kirksville, and Roy Clark and wife Lori of Queen City; one sister, Margaret Gregory and husband Wayne of Kirksville; four brothers, her twin brother, Joe Robbins and wife Georgann of Worthington, David Robbins and friend Rhonda Blankenship of Livonia, MO, Edward Robbins and friend Sandy Rogers of Worthington, and Labe(Junior)Robbins and wife Hallie of Worthington; nine grandchildren, Oliver Overton and wife Cassie, Kyle Overton and wife Amanda, Tanner Overton and wife Stephanie, Chaze, Sierra, Madison Ruth, Roy and Andy; two great grandchildren, Abigail and Oriahnna and one arriving in August, and a host of nieces and nephews. Jo Anne had a strong personal faith in God. Graveside service will be held at 2:30pm Wednesday January 12, 2011 at the McCune Cemetery on highway 136 in Putnam County with Kevin Collins officiating. Pallbearers will be Oliver Overton, Kyle Overton, Tanner Overton, Roy Clark, George Groseclose, and Tony Robbins. Honorary bearers will be Wayne Gregory, Billy Robbins and Daniel Snowbarger. Visitation with the family will be from 1-2pm Wednesday at the Dooley Funeral Home Queen City, MO. Memorials are suggested to the Schulyer County Relay for Life.
