He served in the war four different times eight months until 1782. He was under Capt. John Fleet, Mark Thompson, John Maxfield, and Michael Catt. He served under Gen. George Rogers Clark, was taken prisoner, carried to Detroit and Canada, was paroled in 1783. He came to Gallatin county, Illinois, but died in Saline county, March 4, 1841 (Note: Saline County was once part of Gallatin County). He was pensioned.
