Frances Janette Roark, 91, of Sarcoxie, Missouri departed this life on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on July 17, 1922 in Williamsfield, Illinois to the union of the late Edgar and Mable (Chesser) Phelps. She attended public school in Williamsfield, Illinois. On April 16, 1939 she was united in marriage to Glenn Roark in Davenport, Iowa. Together they shared sixty four years until he passed on June 24, 2003. In 1951 she and Glenn moved to Vandalia, Missouri where they made their home until Glenn retired in 1997. After retirement they relocated to Sarcoxie, Missouri. Frances enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening and flowers. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and was of the Methodist faith.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; one daughter; Linda Gail Heisten and four brothers.
She is survived by three grandchildren; Stanley Rees and wife Sheila, Brian Heisten and wife Andrea and Lindy Heisten, four great grandchildren; Garrett Rees, Samantha Endicott, Gavin Heisten and Hagin Heisten, two great great grandchildren; Emma Calvin and Karmen Calvin, one sister; Ada Frich as well as a host of other family and friends.

Graveside funeral services for Frances will be 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at Sarcoxie Cemetery, Sarcoxie, Missouri with Reverend Don Sullivan officiating. Those honoring her life as pallbearers will be Stanley Rees, Brian Heisten, Josh Calvin, Garrett Rees, Pete Cauthon and Todd Dana. In lieu of flowers the family has requested contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association and may be left with the funeral home.
