She married Matthias Ulmer, of Thomaston, in 1837; she married James Moody, of Belfast, in 1844. According to James' obituary in 1891, the couple lived in Appleton then a few years at Ingraham's Corner, where Mary presumably died.

According to the Rockland Courier-Gazette of June 4, 1869, she was the wife of James L. Moody and was aged 48 years at time of her death. She died in West Camden, which became West Rockport. Note her gravestone is likely more accurate stating her age as 53 at time of death.
