Frank was a son of Henry Ripley and Lydia Bargar. He married Jennie Jones in 1893 and was the father of Veda Marie Hudson, Cora Helen Gorrell, John, Emmett, and Herman. Officials thought that Frank died in an accident cutting timber on the H.H. Clantz farm at Watson Creek when in fact he suffered a heart attack while cutting the wood.
