Downloaded 12 Dec 2007. OBITUARY. Cathrine Cline - nee Cathrine Ringle was born Mar 16 1835, in Seneca county, Ohio. When but a small child her parents moved to Marshall county, Indiana, locating on land near Bremen.
On Feb 20, 1851, she was married to John Cline in St. Joseph county, Ind. To this union were born seven children, three sons and four daughters, the four daughters having preceded her to the spirit world. She leaves to mourn her departure, a husband, three sons, four sisters, and a larger circle of friends.
She died May 25, 1902, aged 67 years, 2 months and 8 days. She had resided longer in this township than any other person now living.
On the evening of Feb. 23, 1853, she was converted in the church then located near the home of Father Bixler. She at once became solicitous for the spiritual well fare of her close friend, Mrs. Sarah Ellis, who, through her influence, was converted three days later. They united with the United Brethren church soon after, and for some time have held the honor of having the oldest membership of the church. From the time of her conversion, during a period of almost 50 years, down to the last service of the church, she was a faithful attendant of the services. Her ceaseless, her never ending prayers, have been for the salvation of the unsaved, but more especially for the salvation of her children, never faltering, never wavering.
The funeral services were held in the United Brethren church Tuesday, May 27, at 10:30 a. m., L. O. Oyler, Pastor officiating. Interment in the Bremen cemetery.
