Lois was born on December 26, 1934 and raised on a farm near Brinsmade, ND. Her parents were Roy and Dorothy Ringenberg. She graduated from Leeds High School and moved on to complete a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and Speech Pathology at Minot State University. It wasn't long before she moved to Great Falls Montana to teach second grade.

While there in the mountains, she met and fell in love with Ted Jones. They were married in Brinsmade, ND in 1959. Longing for adventure, they packed up the car and moved out to Los Angeles, California.

Two years later, it was time to start a family and North Dakota was calling her name. So she and Ted packed up and moved to Devils Lake, ND. While working as a pathologist and elementary teacher, she completed a Masters degree in Developmental and Vocational Education at the University of North Dakota. While raising 3 boys she spent the bulk of her career as a Learning Center Coordinator at Little Hoop Community College in Fort Totten, ND. She made a big difference in the lives of many people. Lois motivated, inspired and encouraged her students to complete their GED and become prepared for college courses.

Lois was also an active leader in her community through her involvement in church and many other causes such as Habitat for Humanity, Safe Alternatives for Abused Families, Boy Scouts of America, the National Cancer society and most recently Birthright of Fargo/Moorhead to name a few. She and Ted also spent several years caring for foster children.

Lois was a life long learner and reader. She was devoted to her family and the well being of those in her life. She valued making a difference in the lives of others and doing her part to make the community she lived in a better place. She was a great friend and confidant to many. She will be missed.
