Erwin and Katherine Apprill, of Higginsville, died June 30th in an auto accident at the intersection of Mo. Highways 131 and 50, in Johnson County. Erwin was 87, Kay was 86. He was a lifelong farmer and had a Gulf Oil station for 20 years. She was a lifelong homemaker and operated their Apprill's Oak Barn Restaurant for 25 years.
They are survived by 3 sons; Larry and Vivian Apprill, Don and Anna Mae Apprill and Mike and Donna Apprill, eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Kay is survived by a brother, Richard Ring. A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. on Monday, July 2 at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Visitation will follow from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 3 at the church. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Catholic cemetery.
