Leota Beatrice Riney, 90, of St. Vincent's Home, formerly of 1445 Hampshire, died at 8:34 a.m. Friday (Jan. 17, 2003) in Blessing Hospital. She was born Sept. 25, 1912, in Clark County, Mo., a daughter of Frank and Catherine Bick Riney. Miss Riney was a mail clerk at Moorman Manufacturing Co. for 31 years until her retirement Sept. 25, 1977. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church. Miss Riney was a member of the St. Elizabeth Society; she was a 50-year plus member of the Legion of Mary and she volunteered for more than 25 years at Blessing Hospital and RSVP. Survivors include a sister-in-law, Madeline Riney of Kahoka, Mo. Five nieces, five nephews and many great-nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Joseph and Patrick Riney; and a sister, Agnes Riney. Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. in St. Boniface Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, St. Patrick, Mo. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday with a parish prayer service at 4:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Boniface Grade School.
