Gerald F. Riney
Gerald F. "Gary" Riney, 65, of Columbus, died at 4:58 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2010, at his home.
Mr. Riney was a 1963 graduate of Washington (IN) Catholic High School, attended Vincennes University and graduated from Murray State University in 1971 with a bachelor's degree in accounting. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1967 to 1971 and was honorably discharged as a staff sergeant.
From 1972 to 2001, he was an accountant for Indiana Department of Work Force Development.
He was a member and former finance officer of Edinburgh American Legion Post No. 233, a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of Knights of Columbus Council No. 630 in Washington.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Edinburgh American Legion Post. Cremation is planned.
Arrangements were made by Hathaway-Myers Chapel on Pearl Street.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana.

Born Nov. 10, 1945, in Washington, Mr. Riney was the son of Robert and Mary Alice Wimmenauer Riney. He married Karen E. McCane March 1, 1996, in Columbus.
Survivors include his wife; stepchildren, Kristopher (Heather) Ogle of Columbus, Michael (Agilah) Ogle of Bloomington and Misty Ogle of Columbus; brothers, Robert (Lisa) Riney of Vero Beach, FL, and Donald Riney of Loogootee; and a sister, Annette (Tony) Stroud of Elberfeld, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Gerald F. "Gary" Riney, 65, died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2010. He was a resident of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife, Karen E. (McCane) Riney; two brothers, Robert (Lisa) Riney of Vero Beach, Fla., and Donald Riney of Loogootee; a sister, Annette (Tony) Stroud of Elberfield; and three stepchildren, Kristopher (Heather) and Misty Ogle, both of Columbus, and Michael (Agilah) Ogle of Bloomington.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mary Alice (Wimmenauer) Riney.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Edinburgh American Legion Post 233, 500 Memorial Drive.Hathaway-Myers Funeral Chapel in Columbus is handling arrangements.
