Ethel A. (Riney) Bassett, formerly of Canton, who resided at the Christian Shelter Home in Quincy, passed away at the home on Sept. 11. Burial services were held at St. Rose of Lima Church in Quincy with interment at St. Patrick on Sept. 14, the 77th anniversary of her birth. She is survived by her husband, Francis Bassett of the home; their children, William L. Bassett of Flaherty, Ky., Joseph T. Bassett of Louisville, Ky., James B. Bassett of Athens, Ga., Mrs. Bennie Logsdon of Paynesville, Ky., and Mrs. Robert Byrd of Ethridge, Tenn.; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.
