Zoe Marie Rinehart Balzly passed away peacefully on July 11, 2011 surrounded by her family and loved ones.

Zoe was born August 13, 1919 in Tamarack, ID to Charles and Vivian LaRue Rinehart. At the age of 4, the family moved to Wilford, ID where she attended school and helped on the family farm.

When Zoe was 17, she came to Utah to visit her sister Melva and brother-in-law Ed Balzly. While there she met her eternal sweetheart, Millard Theodore Balzly. Zoe and Millard were married April 21, 1936. They were later sealed in the Provo Temple for time and all eternity. Millard passed away 6 April, 1974.

Zoe and Millard lived on a farm in Benjamin, Utah where they raised their family. It was there that they picked sugar beets, and corn. Zoe loved cooking for her family, including baking bread. No one ever left her home hungry. She enjoyed sewing and making quilts. In her early married life she belonged to the Rebeccas Lodge. She worked at Mountain View Hospital for 15 years in housekeeping. Zoe also loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing. She loved to take rides up the canyon to see everything as it came to life in the Spring and also the leaves as they changed color in the Fall. She enjoyed riding up the canyon in the summer with Mick and Trudy to see how the cows were doing. She enjoyed going out to eat with her family and friends, especially enjoying the T-bone and Wildflower. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She is survive by 7 of her 8 children: Mildred (Meme) Hayward; Ted Balzly; Mick Balzly; Greg (Nancy) Balzly; and Trudy (Kent) Finster; all of Benjamin; Peggy (Jim) Larsen of Spanish Fork; and Terry Balzly of Payson; a brother, Arnold (Peggy) Rinehart of St. Anthony, ID; a sister-in-law, Lours Balzly of Las Vegas; 19 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; and 8 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter (Nyla Gayle), one grandson, one great grandson; brothers, Jim, Clarence, and Howard; and sisters, Melva Bona, and Bernice Harris.

The funeral services for Zoe will be held Saturday, July 16,. 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Benjamin LDS Church, 3278 West 7300 South, Benjamin. Friends may call from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 15 at Walker Mortuary, 187 S. Main Street, Spanish Fork, and on Saturday from 9:30-10:45 a.m. at the Benjamin Church. Interment will follow at the Payson City Cemetery.
