Helen Pauline (Rinehart) Anthony, beloved and devoted wife of Morris (M.D.) Anthony, passed away July 17, 2004, in Colorado Springs.
Helen was born May 16, 1920 to Sylvester and Adelaide Shepherd Rinehart in Bethany, Missouri. She married M.D. on October 8, 1938, and joyfully committed the next 65 years to her husband and family. For many of those years, she was a Naval wife--facing the challenges of frequent moves throughout the U.S. and abroad and rearing children while M.D. was deployed.
Throughout her life, Helen was a devoted Christian. As an active and faithful member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church for more than 25 years, she sang in the choir, taught or attended Sunday School and Bible classes, and served her church community wherever and whenever she was needed. She volunteered at Every Home for Christ for many years and enthusiastically participated in the ministry of Women of the Word at Radiant Church Assembly of God.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents and nine brothers and sisters. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children; 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, as well as numerous loving friends and extended family members. She will be deeply missed by all of us who loved her and whose lives she touched.
A private committal service was held Monday at the Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum, and we will celebrate the life of Helen Anthony at a memorial service at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, July 22, 2004, at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 2111 Carlton Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80909.
