Melva May (Riley) Harvey was born to Joscelyn and Christiana Riley in Mile End, St. Ann, Jamaica, on February 24, 1937. Mother passed peacefully on Tuesday, August 13, 2013. Mom emigrated to the United States in 2001 and settled in Hartford. As an active member of the Church of God in West Hartford, she served faithfully in the food pantry. Her excitement during worship is unforgettable. She was predeceased by her husband, Sydney Harvey Sr. Son, Clive Champagnie, sister, Angela Riley and Brother Lloyd Riley. She leaves to cherish her memory, children: Sydney Harvey Jr., Dawn Henry and Marsha Lee; brother Roy Riley; sister Vinette; 10 grand; and 12 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at 10 a.m. with a viewing at 9 at Henry L. Fuqua Funeral Service, 94 Granby St., Bloomfield, CT. Burial to follow in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery.
