Helen Mary Riley was born to James Riley and Mary Fenton Bishop. Helen was went to St Catherines school and then she graduated from St John's Academy. Helen married Albert John Coffman on September 23, 1935 in Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana. They had 6 children. She was a very easy going person. Loving and forgiving. Her daughter Joyce told me of a story of how Helen walked to church from State St to Shelby St. One one occassion, Helen was walking to church and Joyce and Jan were following behind her. Helen had a hanger hanging out the back of her coat. Joyce and Jan knew she did and were giggling behind her the whole time. Helen continued to walk unknowingly. When they got to church someone told her about it and she turned around and gave them a look. She was not a mean person but they knew they were in trouble
