Gibbs, Mary Elizabeth "Beth"
BONHAM - Funeral services for Mary Elizabeth (Beth) Gibbs will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009 at Cooper-Sorrells Chapel in Bonham. Officiating will be Rev. Bryan Everett and Rev. Mickey Lyles; internment will follow at Duplex Cemetery.
Ms. Gibbs passed away on Feb. 25, 2009 at Clyde Cosper Veterans Home in Bonham. She is the daughter of Walter Rigsby and Carrie Smith of Spring Hill. Mrs. Gibbs married Woodrow Carlton Gibbs on May 31, 1943 in Bonham. He preceded her in death on Nov. 14, 2003.
She retired from Sam Rayburn Schools where she was in food service, and she was also a member of Elwood Baptist Church.
Mrs.Gibbs is survived by sons, Scott and Lana Gibbs of Ivanhoe, Lynn and Pam Gibbs of Telephone and Ronnie and Dorothy Gibbs of Ivanhoe; grandchildren, Mark, Carrie, Tucker, Callie and Madison Gibbs, Tasha Burkard, and Ross Naylor; great-grandchildren Reagan, Andrew, and Gage Gibbs, Lexi, Colton, and Adalyn Burkand, along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Carlton Gibbs.
Visitation will be from 6 -8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, 2009 at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Ross Naylor, Lenzy Dryer, David Russell, Gaylon Gibbs, Mayfield McCraw, and Eddie Nicely. Honorary Pallbearers will be Alton Treadway, Dwane Gibbs, Jerry McRae, Bill Roland, Wesley Tanner, J.T. Lyles, and Tony Nichols.
