Mrs. Roy I. Bartz
Mrs. Roy I. (Josie Alice) Bartz, 73, of Rt. 1, a lifelong Porter County resident, died this morning at Whispering Pines Home for Senior Citizens following a six month illness.
Born Dec. 21, 1896 in Porter Township she was a daughter of Wallace and Florence )McGinley) Rigg. On Aug. 27, 1938 in Valparaiso she was married to Roy I. Bartz, who survives.
She was a member of the Valparaiso Order of the Eastern Star 164 and Washington Township Ladies Club.
Surviving besides her husband is a sister, Mrs. Bess Coombs, Valparaiso. She was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Wetmore Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul M. Porter, First Christian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Wednesday.
