Augusta Perkins 1916 ~ 2009 Augusta Rigby Perkins passed away October 14, 2009 in Spokane, Washington.She was born in 1916 in Centerville, Utah, to William Lowe and Blanche Barnes Rigby. She married William Merrill Perkins in 1940, and their marriage was solemnized at the LDS Salt Lake Temple in 1943. They celebrated 69 years of marriage on August 17, 2009. She was the mother of Michael, Frederick and Candice and was preceded in death by daughter Candice, and seven sisters. She leaves behind husband Merrill, sons Mike (Ruth) and Fred (Lorre), son-in-law Keith, sister Jeanne, brothers Bill and Seymour, 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grand-children. Active in community affairs and the LDS church, she held leadership positions in the Relief Society and Primary, and served over half a century as a teacher in the Sunday School and Primary. She had unique abilities in helping handicapped and disadvantaged children. She was an avid reader and her ceramics, crochet and paintings adorn many homes. She held unwavering faith in her savior, Jesus Christ and was his obedient servant. Her viewing will be at the Belle Terre LDS Ward, 13608 E. 40th, Spokane, October 19 from 9:00 until 10:30 a.m., with the funeral service conducted at the same location at 11:00 a.m., with Bishop Brent Byer conducting. Her remains will be transported to Utah where a graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 22, 2009 at the Farmington City Cemetery, 200 East 500 South. A visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Farmington Mortuary, 1941 North Main and a family viewing at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the mortuary prior to services.
