Adele Frances Harvey, daughter of John W. and Martha Brenner Rieth, was born March 30, 1920, in Woodward, Oklahoma. She departed this life Sunday, April 12, 2009, in Lake Ozark Regional Care Center, in Osage Beach, Missouri, at the age of eighty-nine years, and twelve days.
On February 15, 1945, she was united in marriage to Jack Richard Harvey, and to this union three daughters and one son were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Jack, on September 17, 1995.
Adele is survived by three daughters, Linda Harvey, of Lebanon, Missouri, Jacqueline Prichard, of Osage Beach, Missouri, and Karen Dahlgren, of Macks Creek, Missouri; a son, Raymond Harvey, of New Haven, Missouri; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; five brothers, Arthur, Donald, Vernon, and Eugene Rieth, all of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Edmond Rieth, of Morilton, Arkansas; a sister, Donna McCall, of Morilton, Arkansas; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in Oklahoma and then moved to Wichita, Kansas after she and Jack were married. For the next several years, she worked making a home for her family. In 1963, the family moved to St. Louis, Missouri while Jack worked for Boeing Aircraft. In addition to being a devoted homemaker to her family, Adele also worked as a secretary for a grocery inventory service company for a few years. In 1979, after Jack retired, Adele and Jack moved to Lebanon, Missouri. For the last few years, she had made her home in Osage Beach, Missouri.
Adele was a member of St. Frances DeSales Catholic Church in Lebanon and was active in the Women's Guild.
She and Jack belonged to the Levi's and Laces Square Dance Club, in Lebanon, and Adele was a member of a quilting club for several years. In her spare time she enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and raising beautiful flowers. She also liked working in her garden and canning homegrown produce. She loved her family dearly and especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Adele was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and will cherish the memories she created for her family and friends.
Services will be held at 10:00am on Thursday April 16, 2009 at St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mt. Rose Memorial Park. Visitation is Wednesday evening 7-8:30 pm at the funeral home under the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Lebanon, Missouri.
