Death Of E.A. Ridgway.
Mr. E.A. Ridgway, who was one of the most prominent plumbers in this city until he retired from business about seven years ago, died at 2 o'clock this morning at his residence, 231 E Street Northwest. Mr. Ridgway underwent a stroke of paralysis which caused his retirement from business and since that time it was has been his custom to make annual visits to the Hot Springs of Arkansas. He left Washington shortly after Christmas and had reached Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, on the return trip, Good Friday, April 3, when he fell in the railroad train and appeared to be badly injured. He was brought to this city and there is no doubt that death resulted from the fall. Physicians were unable to determine whether a recurrence of the paralysis caused the fall or whether the fall brought on the paralysis.
Mr. Ridgway was held in high esteem by an unusually large circle of friends and his demise this morning caused deep sorrow. He leaves a wife and eight children, all of who are in the city. His mother is also living and was at his bedside when death occurred. The funeral will take place tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock from the number mentioned. Interment will be private.
