Clifton W. Richens passed peacefully from this life surrounded by loving family on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2001 after a valiant battle with cancer at the age of 81. He was born May 15, 1920 to Carl W. and Audrey Merkley Richens in Vernal. Cliff married Syble McAlily. During this union two beautiful daughters, Teresa and Kristi were born. Cliff and Syble were later divorced. He married Corrine Merritt Hill in 1982. Together they spent almost 20 years living a happy, loving, active life. Cliff served in the United States Air Force. He served in World War II where he fought many battles including The Battle of the Bulge. He also served his country in the Korea and Vietnam wars. Cliff loved his country and served it well. He conducted his life in a military stance and was ever so proud that he could give back in military form. During his military career, Cliff lived in many places, including Canada where his daughter Kristi was born. Because of this, he always had a special place for Canada in his heart. He retired after 20 years of service. Cliff loved to dance and was a wonderful dancer. He spent many years entertaining his wife, Corrine, with dancing. His family and extended family meant a great deal to him. he was very proud of all his grandchildren and step-grandchildren. He loved to entertain everyone with his stories of life and the War. Cliff was so interesting and knowledgeable; one could sit for days and just listen to him talk. His various accomplishments included: soil conservationist, Kennedy Space Center, Fla. and chemist at HAFB. He was a very special man who was loved and will be missed by everyone whose life he touched. Cliff is survived by his wife, Corrine of Roy; two daughters, Terri Rosenlund of Tubac, Ariz.; Kristi (Mike) Michalski of Mojave Valley, Ariz.; stepchildren, Marilyn (Randy) Meyer, South Ogden; Diana (Carl) Bullock, West Weber; Ronald Hill, Layton; Carolyn (Craig) Boyer, Hooper; five grandsons, six step-grandsons, five step-granddaughters, and 13 step-great-grandchildren. His parents and one sister preceded him in death.
