Born to Mary Ann Sampson and John Lynde Richardson in Kenosha, WI Mary (Minnie) was one of 7 children. Married to Edmund E. Bates in 1879. Edward (Eddie) George was born 1879, Olive Amy 1882 and Harley Vern in 1887, all in Racine, WI. By 1888 the family traveled by train to San Jose, CA with relatives.
Obit....."Minnie Richardson....was baptized Sep 19, 1896 at Santa Cruz, CA. (R.L.D.S. Church) Was president of the Literary Society for seventeen years and greatly loved by young and old, an ardent worker and a beautiful example to those who knew her and loved her." Played the church organ and was Superintendent of the Sunday School. Close to her sisters, Ella (Nell) Englehardt, Fanny Larabee and Emma Fonda and brothers Jack, George Throop and John Frank Richardson.
