Elise Richardson Kenan, 75, died early Tuesday morning in the Candler County Hospital after an extended illness.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Bulloch County and a member of the First United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Crusaders Sunday School Class. She was a charter member of the Bulloch County Historical Society, a member of the Archibald Bulloch County Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, a member of the Daughters of the American Colonies, as well as a member of the Mr. and Mrs. Garden Club.
Survivors include her husband, J. Shields Kenan, Statesboro; two daughters, Carolyn Bryant, Atlanta, and Sharon Harvell, Wilmington, N.C.; two sons, James S. Kenan, Brooklet, and Gregory R. Kenan, Phoenix, Ariz.; and 10 grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church with Dr. Hugh Davis officiating. Burial will be in Eastside Cemetery. Hodges-Turner Funeral Home.
