Funeral for Frank Tompkins Richardson Jr., 90, was Tuesday at 3 p.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Richard Webster and the Rev. Richard Lawson officiating. The family received friends from 2 to 3 at St. John's Episcopal Church Library.

Mr. Richardson died Sunday, April 6, 2003, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born Jan. 11, 1913, in Birmingham to Frank Tompkins Richardson Sr. and Annie Turner Peebles Richardson. He was a retired farmer of Hitching Post Farms in Limestone County and a lifelong resident of Mooresville. Mr. Richardson and his family have been Mooresville residents for seven generations. He graduated from Branham Hughes Military Academy in Tennessee and he attended Auburn University. He was a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. Mr. Richard worked in Procurement at MICOM and NASA. He was a multi-award winning photographer whose works have been published in many historical books and are on display throughout the area. He was a member of the Flying Farmers of America, Morgan County Power Squadron, charter member of the Civil Air Patrol, charter member of Local Ducks Unlimited, one of the Founders of Wildlife Festival and an active and lifelong member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Decatur. He was the widower of Frances Cocke Richardson.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Turner Richardson; one son, Frank Tompkins Richardson III of Mooresville; one daughter, Frances Cocke Richardson of Madison; one sister, Annie Peebles Yarbrough of Decatur; six grandchildren, Timothy Robert Goodrich, Frank Tompkins Richardson IV, Jennifer Claire Goodrich, Amanda Richardson Bacon, Joseph Rosson Richardson and Joseph Hagler Wiley; and five great-grandchildren.

Memorial gifts may be made to St. John's Episcopal Church or Hospice of The Valley of Morgan County.
