A funeral for R. Irene Phillips of Milwaukie will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Cornwell Colonial Chapel in Woodburn. Interment will be in Belle Passi Cemetery in Woodburn.
She died Tuesday in her home of complications from Alzheimer's disease. Mrs. Phillips was 82.
She was born July 1, 1910, in Forest Grove but was raised and schooled in Portland. Her maiden name was Rich. She married Leslie C. Phillips on Dec. 21, 1934, in Auburn, Calif.
Mrs. Phillips had worked as a bookkeeper in the Tacoma and Yakima areas for many years. She was a member of the Episcopal faith. She had lived in Bend and Lincoln City for several years before moving to Milwaukie in 1991. Her husband died in 1989.
Survivors include her daughter, Wanda Akins of Milwaukie; brother, Charles Rich of Redmond; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
