Graveside services for a former Nucla resident, Mrs. Rose L Johannsen of Aurora, who dies Sunday, September 24, in St. Joseph's Hospital in Denver, were conducted by the Rev George Hibbert of the Church of Christ Saturday, September 30 at 3 p.m. in the Nucla Cemetery.
Born December 23, 1892 at Hailey, Idaho, Rose L Rice had lived in Colorado since 1900, first at Nucla and since 1966 at Aurora. In 1916 she was married at Nucla to John Ethridge, who died in 1919.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Mabel R Miller, Aurora; four step children: Eddie Johannsen, Nucla; Ove Johannsen, Delta; Orville Johannsen, San Diego, California; Mrs. Amy Kelley, Belvidere, Illinois; three grandchildren: John Finicle, Aurora; Pete Finicle, Englewood; Mrs. Nancy Enstrom, Nucla and three great grandchildren.
Sumner's Valley Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
