Eleanor Rice Erickson, age 84, died 13 March 2009, in Lacey, Washington. She was born 17 April 1924 in Provo, Utah, daughter of Oscar LeGrande and Erma Allen Rice.
She married Henry Keith Erickson, 16 June 1948 in the Salt Lake Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS).
Eleanor loved being a mother and grandmother, and was an active member of the LDS Church. She was creative, artistic, a great homemaker, seamstress, cook, and belonged to several social groups, including the Jane Herrick Literary Club. She retired from public relations work with the Colorado State Home for the Retarded prior to moving to Lacey in 1998 to be close to family.
She is survived by daughters Barbara (Morgan) Cooke, Marcia (Eric) Coppin; 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, and younger sister Maxine Booth of Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband and daughter Marlene.
A funeral was held 17 March 2009 in Washington. A graveside service will be held at Crown Hill Cemetery, Wheat Ridge, Colorado at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, 19 March 2009. Please leave online condolences at www.funeralalternatives.org.
