Dorothy had been earlier by clothing manufacturer, Robert Terry in Walkersville and later with Sagner Inc., Frederick where she was employed as a clerk until she retired.
She was an active member of Araby United Methodist Church for 50 years, the Urbanna Ladies Auxiliaryfor the Volunteer Fire Department an honorary member of New Midway Volunteer Fire Department, the Frederick County Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and had recieved numerous awards and achivements for service to the community, among them were the Robert L. Renner Award from Frederick County Fireman's Association, 1999 and the Hall Of Fame Award for Frederick County Volunteer Fireman's Association, 2001, and was an avid fan of Urbanna Hawks High School Football.
Dorothy is survived by Russell "Jake" Thomas Lenhart and wife Dorothy , Araby and Joseph C. "Joe" Lenhart and wife Mary, Keymar and one daughter, Helen Louise Rice and husband Jerry, Frederick, seven grandchildren, Thomas Eugene Lenhart Sr.; Kevin T. Rice; Karen Sue DeGrange; Douglas A. Lenhart; Kimberly Deanna Butts; Christine L. Gladhill and Terry L. Fogle, eight great-grandchildren, Thomas Eugene Lenhart Jr.; Stephanie Lenhart; Charles DeGrange Jr.; Michael Lenhart; Trisha and Jason Butts; Daniel and Mark Gladhill and predeceased by one daughter, Wilma "Peachy" Irene Lenhart.
Dorothy is survived also by one brother, Maynard E. Rice, Frederick and predeceased by two brothers, Clyde Walter "Spider" Rice and Russell E. Rice Sr.
A Memorial Service was held by the Ladies Auxiliary of the Urbana Fire Company
Funeral was held at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, Frederick with the Rev. Elza M. Hurst, her pastor officiating, pallbearers were grandsons, Kevin T. Rice, Thomas Eugene Lenhart Sr., grandson-in-law, Jeff Gladhill
and members of the Urbana Fire Department, Marvin Hubble, Thomas Hipkins and John Main and internment made in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick by Keeney and Basford funeral directors.
