Dorothy Rice Collins, “Gran” 90, of Fortson, GA, died Sunday, September 28, 2014 at Summer’s Landing Assisted Living.
Funeral Services will be held 12:00 Noon, Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. Micky Adams officiating. A private interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mrs. Collins was born November 21, 1923 in Phenix City, AL daughter of the late Walter Lowe Rice, Sr. and Missouri Temples Rice. She was the secretary for 38 years at Toms Food. Mrs. Collins was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy D. Collins, and son, Donald “Donnie” W. Collins.
The family would like the extend a special thank you to the staff at Summer’s Landing.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gentiva Hospice, 100 Brookstone Centre Pkwy, Columbus, GA 31904 or Piney Grove Baptist Church Building Fund, 20 HWY 315 Fortson, GA 31808.
