Clarence W. Rice of Quarryville

Clarence W. Rice, 90, of Quarryville, Lancaster County, died Wednesday, May 2, 2007, at Hickory House Nursing Home.
He was the husband of the late Helen D. Rice, who predeceased him in 2001. They shared 64 years of marriage.
Born in Byers, he was the son of the late Clarence Rice and Minnie Smiley Rice.
He was the owner of the Shamona Dell Farm in Uwchlan Township, where he ran a successful dairy business. In 1989, he retired to Lancaster County.
Clarence was an avid fox hunter and horseman.
In his younger years, he was a baseball pitcher for a Chester County league, the Eagle team and played ball at Hickory Park.
He is survived by two sons, Richard C. Rice of Prattsburg, N.Y., and Robert W. Rice of Quarryville; a daughter, Joanne R. Pennypacker of Lionville; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Monday, May 7, at Ralston and Bredickas Funeral Home, 107 Lancaster Ave., Downingtown.
Interment will be in Windsor Baptist Cemetery, Eagle.
Friends and family may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, at the funeral home.
