19 Nov 1990: Dorothy G. Rice Ford, 89, of 6326 Kirkville Road, Kirkville, died Sunday at her home. Mrs. Ford was a life resident of Kirkville. A teacher for 43 years, she retired from the East Syracuse-Minoa schools. She also taught in Syracuse schools. She and her husband Alexander owned and operated Rice's Store in Kirkville, which had been founded by her father, Albert Rice. Her husband died in 1982. Mrs. Ford graduated from Syracuse Normal School in 1923. She was a member of the Kirkville United Methodist Church. Surviving are two daughters, Martha Ford Barrella of Liverpool and Patricia Ford; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two nieces and two nephews. Private services will be Wednesday at the family home. Burial will be in Kirkville Cemetery. Calling hours will be 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the family home, 6326 Kirkville Road. Contributions may be made to the Kirkville Fire Department. Eaton-Tubbs-Schepp Funeral Home, Fayetteville, has charge of arrangements. [Syracuse Post Standard]
