Doris was a member of the Mount Zion United Methodist Church, Myersville and was a dedicated volunteer coordinating many church functions and also making certain there were fresh flowers on the alter.
Doris was employed by the Frederick County Board Of Education where she was a food service worker in the Myersville Elementary School from which she retired and also worked as a hostess at the Dan Dee Restaurant for several years.
In addition to her husband she is survived by two sons, Nelson Thomas Hipkins and wife Sharon of Wolfsville and Kevin Franklin Hipkins and wife Tammy of Fairfield, Pa., four grandchildren, Katie Hipkins, Dustin Hipkins, Seth Hipkins and Eric Hipkins.
Funeral services held with pastor Mary Worrell from Mt. Zion United Methodist Church officiating with internment being made in the church cemetery by Ricketts funeral directors.
