Doris Louise was born in Myersville on April 12, 1933 a daughter of Grayson Franklin and Louise Frances Miller Rice and was the wife of John W. Hipkins, her husband of 52 years.
Doris was a member of the Mount Zion United Methodist Church, Myersville and was a dedicated volunteer coordinating many church functions and also making certain there were fresh flowers on the alter.
Doris was employed by the Frederick County Board Of Education where she was a food service worker in the Myersville Elementary School from which she retired and also worked as a hostess at the Dan Dee Restaurant for several years.
In addition to her husband she is survived by two sons, Nelson Thomas Hipkins and wife Sharon of Wolfsville and Kevin Franklin Hipkins and wife Tammy of Fairfield, Pa., four grandchildren, Katie Hipkins, Dustin Hipkins, Seth Hipkins and Eric Hipkins.
