Born in New Bedford, she graduated from New Bedford High School and Kinyon-Campbell Business School. She was employed as a bookkeeper until her retirement. Mrs. Ribeiro resided in South Dartmouth for 48 years. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, South Dartmouth.
In her leisure time she enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, sewing and rug braiding.
Her family includes three sons, James Ribeiro and his wife Karen of Oakton, Virginia, David Ribeiro and his wife Filomena of Boca Raton, Florida, and Jeffrey Ribeiro and his wife Wendy of Natick, MA; two daughters, Elizabeth Pape and her husband Larry of Sterling, MA, and Sandra Bottiglieri and her husband Stephen of South Dartmouth, MA; a sister, Elsie Pacheco of San Marcos, CA; eleven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Dulce Sylvia.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 7pm on Sunday. Her funeral will be conducted Monday morning 8:45 at the funeral home with a Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated in St. Mary's Church, South Dartmouth at 10:00 am. Interment in South Dartmouth Cemetery.
