Marguerite B. Rhine, 91, of Grantville passed away Sunday, October 20, 2013 in the Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Born December 27, 1921 in Lebanon County, she was a daughter of the late John S. and Carrie E. (Yorty) Pankake.
A 62 year member of St. John's United Methodist Church, she had worked for the former Kettering Nursing Home, Palmyra and had been a Cub Scout den mother. She was a member of Farm Women Group #4, a life member of the Grantville Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, and attended groups at the East Hanover Township Senior Center.
Surviving are her sons John H. Rhine of Middletown, Barry L. Rhine of Palmyra, Dean C. Rhine of Wrightsville, and Bruce N. Rhine of Grantville; brothers Earl Pankake of Palmyra and Russell Pankake of Lebanon; 9 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.
The widow of John C. Rhine on June 6, 2006, she was also preceded in death by a granddaughter Debbie (Rhine) Stick, sister Alberta Wolfe, and brothers Robert Pankake and Roy Pankake.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, October 25, 2013 at St. John's United Methodist Church, 165 Firehouse Road, Grantville. Viewings will be held 6:00 – 8:00 PM Thursday at Buse Funeral Home, 9066 Jonestown Road, Grantville and 10:30 – 11:00 AM Friday at the church. Interment in the adjoining Grantville Cemetery.
