Life Resident of Keokuk Dies Early Today in Hospital
Mrs. Margaret E. Rhea, of 1822 Park Street, died at 1:06 a.m. today in Graham hospital. She became ill only yesterday morning.
Born June 27, 1896 in Kirksville, Mo., she was the daughter of Steven and Florence Bowers Andrews. She has been a resident of Keokuk since childhood.
Her first marriage was to Ellis Williams on December 26, 1913. She later married Otis Rhea on August 22, 1942 in Kahoka. He survives.
Surviving besides the husband are a son, Cpl. Marion E. Williams with the Army in Korea; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Martha Londrie of Keokuk; four stepsons, Alva Rhea of Macomb, James of Dallas City, Ernest of New York, and Walter, of Largo, Ind., two step-daughters, Mrs. Gladys Briley of Keokuk, Mrs. Dorothy Canfield of Washington D.C.: two sisters, Mrs. Anna Belle Parrott, of Ottumwa, and Mrs. Mary Greves, of Keokuk; a brother, Roy Andrews, of Peoria; her mother Mrs. Florence Phillips, of Keokuk; six grandchildren and 12 step-grandschildren. Her father preceded her in death as did a brother and stepson.
The body is at DeJong's funeral home. Funeral arrangements await word from the son in Korea.
