Dorothy Gertrude (Reynolds) Adle
Former Walnut Creek/Lafayette Resident age 98, passed away on Friday, April 8, 2011, in Madison, Wisconsin. She was born on March 30, 1913, in Lafayette, Indiana, the daughter of Edward and Ruth (McDoel) Reynolds. She married Jerald Marshall Adle on January 29, 1938. Dorothy graduated from Purdue University in 1934 and received her Master of Social Work in 1965 from the University of California Berkeley. Dorothy lived in Lafayette and Walnut Creek, California from 1959 to 2002 where she worked for Planned Parenthood and was active in many social and political causes. Dorothy is survived by her children, Ann Adle Hoyt on Madison, Wisconsin, and Connie Adle Burke; 3 grandchildren and 4 great-children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerald Marshall Adle and her son Joseph Reynolds Adle. A Memorial service will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Walnut Creek at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, June 22, 2011. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mount Diablo Peace and Justice Center, Walnut Creek or the Mt Diablo Unitarian Universalist Church.
