Dolores A. Ferguson (1928-2008)

ARNOLD - Dolores Arminta Ferguson of Arnold, 80, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008, at her home.

She was born Jan. 28, 1928, in Milburn to Edmund and Beth Crowe Reynolds. Dolores attended school at Milburn through the 10th grade and graduated from Sargent High School. She worked in the Naval Department in Washington D.C. during World War II.

On April 17, 1949, she was united in marriage to Forrest 'Frosty' Ferguson at Broken Bow. The couple made their home in rural areas at Victoria Springs, Milburn and Anselmo before moving to Arnold in 1958. Dolores was employed at Jack and Jill grocery store and later was the bookkeeper at the family owned F & F Elevator.

Dolores was a member of the United Methodist Church at Arnold and the American Legion Auxiliary. Activities during her lifetime included being a Boy Scout Den Mother, sewing, gardening and raising flowers. She was an avid bridge player and especially enjoyed horse racing. During her children's school years, Dolores looked forward to attending their school and sports activities. She cherished time spent with her entire family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Lloyd; and an infant grandson, Levi Ferguson.

Survivors include her husband, Forrest 'Frosty' Ferguson of Arnold; a daughter, Cheryl (Rod) Ferguson-Watson of Arnold; five sons, Douglas (Cyndi) Ferguson of Omaha, Richard (Lois) Ferguson of Castle Rock, Colo., Barry (Kathy) Ferguson of Aurora, Colo., Ranald (Carol) Ferguson of Arnold, Joseph Ferguson of Aurora; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 2, 2009, at the United Methodist Church in Arnold with Pastor Doug Ferguson and Rev. Dale Coates officiating. Burial will follow at the Arnold Cemetery.
