Wavylena "Linda" Murray, 74, of Parkersburg died July 13, 2006, at her residence following an extended illness.
She was born at Burning Springs, a daughter of the late Robert and Goldie (Snyder) Reynolds.
Linda was a loving wife and devoted mother and opened her house to anyone in need, especially if they needed a place to call home. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was a vital part of the family business, Murray Sheet Metal, where she supported her husband for many years. Linda loved living on the river and dancing with her husband, Jack. She was a member of American Legion Post 15 Auxiliary and was an active bowler at Ren-Dor Lanes.
Surviving is her husband of 54 years, Jack R. Murray; two children, Camilla "Cammy" Murray of Parkersburg and Jay Murray and his wife, Amy, of Raleigh, N.C.; three grandchildren, Kyle Elizabeth Pugh of Parkersburg, and Jay T. Murray and Noah Murray of Raleigh, N.C.; four nephews, Roy "Butch" Murray, Bill Murray, Bob Murray and Wayne Carr; her caregiver, Marcella Waldron; a son-in-law, Bill Pugh; and her special companions, her beloved dogs, Gracie and Nikita.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Sadie Tucker.
Funeral services will be noon Monday at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, Chris Waldron officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday.
